I sent this out as an email to all registered users of this site. If you did NOT get this as an email, please let me know ASAP. I am not sure that everyone got it, though I know many did…
Welcome aboard. I wanted to give you an update on the status of our launch. As you know, we opened registration to the chat and student groups yesterday. We intend to give people another day or two to register, and then we will choose a proper venue based on the number of people in each group.
We could not do that in advance primarily because of video-conferencing limitations. For example, TeamViewer is a great choice but has a 15 user limit. Google hangout has a 6 user video limit, I believe. Many more than 15 people expressed an interest in being students, but of course, that does not mean they actually will.
So, in another day or two we will evaluate the number of registered/paid users and decide on an appropriate venue. We will send another email with a link at that time. In the meantime, if you are not already a member of the slack channel I host, you can join us at:
I notice that the activity there has dropped off substantially after I announced I will be launching a new site soon. But there are still some good exchanges of info happening there.
Students, we will discuss our timezones, work schedules, etc, to determine if there is a time for 45 minute classes that works for everyone. I hope so, but if not, I will perhaps teach the same classes twice, 12 hours apart. We will see when the time comes.
I’ll write you again in a day or two.
