Geometric Thinking Generator

No way no one thought of this before me

I have decided to opensource a remarkably simple idea for a free energy system which easily scales in size.  Once you have reviewed this document and have grasped how it works, you will likely be astonished that it was not developed sooner.  My guess is that it HAS.  My guess is that someone submitted a patent for it in decades past, but the boys in black shut it down, or the inventor sold his rights for a pretty payoff to an oil company which then shelved the plans.  I say this because the concept is too simple for no one to have thought of it before.

In any case I am too old to worry about making a killing off this idea.  I would much rather see 10,000 handymen working in their garages to make this for their home and their friends.  One of the very cool things about the invention is it is infinitely scalable, as you will see.

The guts of the invention is the humble siphon.  That irresistible force that pulls water out of your toilet every time you depress the ‘flush’ knob/lever.  If you don’t understand how siphons work, you might want to watch a youtube video on the subject.  It is VERY simple and VERY well known.

If you fill this pipe with water, keep both ends from leaking any water then quickly turn it right side up, as shown, with the lower end submerged in water, and the high end above the water, it will continue to flow water through the pipe FOREVER, as long as the lower end remains in the water, and the siphon is not broken.  If you have the lower end in a kiddie pool in the back yard, and the out-take draining water back into the same pool, the siphon could continue forever.

You really need to grasp the simplicity of this, and the fact that this is very well understood science.  Once you get that, then move on to the next step, which is to add a water turbine to the out-take.  As the out-take is forever draining the water, which is being pulled up the intake by the siphon, the turbine is spinning and making electricity.

The invention now looks like this:

That is the invention.  In order to make it work, my suggestion is to put watertight/airtight valves on both ends, and add one more to the very top.  Why?

In order to get the process started you would seal both the intake/drain ends of the pipe.  Then, using the top inlet, add water until the entire pipe is 100% full.  Then seal the valve on the top.  You now have a pipe full of water which can not escape.

Then, unseal the valve on the intake side (longer pipe).  No water will exit the pipe, even with that valve open, because there is no way for air to enter the pipe as the water drains.  The vacuum keeps the water where it is.

Finally open the out-take valve.  Now water will start flowing.  As water exits the out-take, it “pulls” water into the intake by siphon.  The turbine is spinning – AND IT WILL NOT STOP – as long as the water keeps flowing. It will not stop flowing as long as the intake remains under the water, and the siphon is not broken.

Now that you see the utter simplicity of the invention, you understand why I don’t believe I could be the first person to think of this.  My guess is this must have been suppressed for many decades.

Scalable

The greater the water pressure, the more electricity that can be generated.  Municipal governments could build this with 20” pipes, rising 200 meters into the air, coupled with massive 1,000,000 Kw turbines. I’ll leave it to the engineers to determine, but I imagine an entire city could be powered with a relatively small number of such builds.  The beauty is, again, it is FREE, CLEAN energy once the device is built and running.

For a single family residence one could start with a single device with 1” pipes running maybe 10’ into the air, and a 1kw turbine attached.  Once that is running, it is very easy to add more devices to the same water source/pool.  Need 5Kw to run your house?  Just add 4 more devices.

I am not an electrical engineer, so I don’t know what the optimal pipe size/height of device, coupled with what turbine, is.  But I’m sure there are many out there that can provide those answers once they understand how this works.

Addendum

The question was raised as to whether or not the siphon out-take must be lower than the source water level. It is a reasonable point to make, except that I have seen water being siphoned out of deep wells (I reside in a developing country.). It could be that a bucket/container system must be integrated into this invention to make it work properly. Perhaps it is not about the height of the out-take relative to the intake, but rather the total weight/volume of the water in the containers and out-take, being greater than the weight of the water in the intake(??)

See the short video below for an example.

There are MANY such FREE water pumps in use here. This one is pumping from a river, but I have also see similar setups pumping from deep wells, which could be FAR below the out-take. Just look at this finished setup, and imagine a turbine placed somewhere on the out-take. Water AND electricity, forever, and for FREE.
